New Fare Collection System

This introduces a new method for the collection of bus fares, whereby the passenger places fare in the coin slot at top of the box and the number of fares collected is registered on an automatic counter.

Bus tickets will soon become a thing of the past, although facilities will still be provided for buyers of concession tickets.

The success of this new venture depends largely on bus passengers tendering correct fare.

The strange-looking mechanism pictured is shortly to be installed in all the city council buses.

As well as saving on printing expenses for tickets, the new system will end the many hours balancing tickets and cash, which driver is seen doing in picture below.
