Christmas-Summer...

As this issue of "Photo News" goes to press, Christmas, with all its rush and bustle, is fast overtaking us. Waikanae Beach, sparsely populated at present, will shortly be crowded with holiday makers from all parts of New Zealand - here to enjoy a break in Gisborne -First City of the Sun.

Here at "Photo News" we can look back on another year of publication with some satisfaction. The year started ominously - our existence threatened through lack of supplies. This situation, however, has since righted itself, and we look forward to a secure future.

During the year we have extended & modified our premises to accommodate new plant and machinery, which we plan to have in operation early in the coming year.

We take this opportunity of wishing all our readers a Merry Christmas, a pleasant holiday and a happy and prosperous New Year.

"Photo News" itself goes on holiday following this issue. As usual there will be no January issue. The first issue for 1959 will be on sale from February 5th.
