Cheaper Fifty Years Ago

Marriage was just as big a responsibility 50 years ago as it is today, but, as the accounts reproduced on indicate, it wasn't quite as expensive.

The pictures and accounts were supplied to Photo News by Mr and Mrs J. Lamont, who recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

The business house of John F. Pettie was on the present site of the P.B. Electric Power Board offices, hardware merchant E. W. Burton was near Charlie Adair Ltd., and Reynolds' Furnishing Emporium was in the building shortly to be vacated by Wildish's Auction Mart.
