New Season's Fashions

With the change of season comes new fashions and milady gives serious thought to the question of what to wear this summer.

To help her (or maybe confuse her) in her decisions, local firms sponsor fashion parades, in which the latest lines available are modelled before critical eyes.

In this picture Beverley Hardwicke and Patsy Morrison show off to advantage the latest Fred Perry tennis frock and Catalina swim suit featuring the new "back glance" style.

These two models were part of a fashion parade sponsored by Petties Ltd. and run in aid of the Plunket Society. Further pictures from this parade are featured on the following three pages.

Although there were no newcomers as startling as the "sack" of last year, to set ladies cooing and men howling in agony, the fashions displayed showed variety and imagination.

Fashions varied from the trim Santa Monica spot cotton, modelled by Kate Hegarty,

to the astounding shortie nightie "Baby Doll" which Janet Moss displays to perfection at right.

Able compere of fashion parade was Mrs Pat Stewart, who provided an interesting commentary on each model.
