Wedding Bells

Keiha—Kingi. Two young people, descended from chiefs of the Rongowhakaata and Te-aitanga-a-Mahaki tribes, were married recently in the Church of St. John the Evangelist at Te Karaka. They were Maata Rewanga Kingi, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs K. Kingi, Te Karaka, and Wiremu Pare Keiha, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Reta Keiha, Gisborne, The bridesmaids.were cousins of the bride, Misses Christine Chrisp and Matire Ruru, and the best man was the bridegroom's brother, Mr Peter Keiha. Future home, Hexton.

Naden—Ward. At St.Mary's Star of the Sea, Ellen Ward, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Ward, 711 Gladstone Road, to Patrick Francis Naden, son of Mr and Mrs C. G. Naden, 12 Rata Street. Attendants, are Gary Thompson, Peggy Ward, Brian Compton (best man), Marie Ward (chief maid), Anne Naden, Peter Bradley, Eileen Ward, and Michael Vita, all of Gisborne. Future home: Gisborne.

Undoubtedly one of the most outstanding paintings in the Gisborne Art Society's annual art exhibition, was this water-colour- study by A. Barns-Graham from Kaiti Beach. Hanging immediately inside the gallery's main entrance, the work attracted no small measure of public attention.
