Narrow Win Against Hamilton

With a hotly disputed goal by Branson from Kemp in the later stages of the game, Eastern Union narrowly defeated Hamilton Wanderers by two goals to one, thus just sneaking through to the next round of the Chatham Cup. The dispute arose over Kemp, who many considered to be in an off-side position, when he kicked to Branson to goal.
