Waxworks Come to Gisborne
Never before had so many famous people come to Gisborne. The War Memorial hall was crowded with the great figures of past and present. Joan of Arc was to be seen near Marilyn Monroe. Molotov stared across the hall at the Empress Josephine. So did Henry VIII, but Napoleon Bonaparte was not in the least upset. The Archbishop of Canterbury kept his gaze fixedly averted from Diana Dors.
Magnificent costuming was a feature of the Royal family group on the stage.
