Fun at Arts Ball

Gay was the word for the Gisborne Ballet Group's Arts Ball, held this month in the War Memorial Hall. With the exception of one or two patrons, all present were in fancy dress, and the variety and ingenuity of the costumes displayed indicated that Gisborne enjoys dressing up for fun just as much as the larger cities.

Presiding over all with infectious gaiety was the president of the Group, Mrs G. H. Stewart, (right), who came as Lady Docker, complete with ostrich feather, miniature gold-plated car, and a sign reading "Banned from Cannes".
