Roving Camera

To the mere male, the impact of new feminine fashions often confirms his belief that the world is slowly going crazy.

That's what we thought, anyway, when we saw the "harem" look frock at a recent Gisborne fashion show.

Valmai, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. N. Jones, 457 Aberdeen Road, was celebrating her 21st birthday when the picture was taken.

Regency, who is the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Blair, 10 Rata Street, also won the Perkins Shield for the senior championship in ballet dancing, and was also first equal in the open test dance.

But here's Valmai Jones looking so charming in the self-same frock that we're instantly prepared to eat our words.

Game to come out in this, girls?

And she has good company in Princess Margaret. Might as well surrender, you chaps.

In frippery of a more traditional design is Gisborne's promising young dancer, Regency Blair, who so captivated the judges at the Rotorua Competitions Festival that they named her the outstanding performer of the festival, an honour won only once before by a dancer.
