The distinction of being the oldest passenger ever carried by New Zealand National Airways Corporation was earned last month by Mrs I. Ford, aged 99, who flew down from Auckland after a short visit to that city. She lives with Mrs E. G. Caigou at Ormond. Mrs Ford, who took the trip extremely well, is seen above being interviewed at the air­port by Mr Keith Bracey, of 2XG.

R. Mercer, Gisborne, a novice golfer who, in his first tournament, the P.B. club's Easter fixture, surprised the golfing fraternity of the district by flooring all his opponents and winning the Willock Cup. Dark-horse Mercer is a product of practice and tuition on the Manutuke farm of Mr R. T. Field.
