Football Kick-off

Grounds were hard, but players were fit for the opening of the 1953 football season at the Oval on April 19, when these pictures were taken.

The other senior game, at Rugby Park, resulted in the defeat of last year's senior competition winners. H.S.O.B. by Ngatapa. 28 to 6.
