Roving Camera

Aeronautioal event of the month for Gisborne was the demonstration flight by the National Airways Corporation of their brandnew Bristol Brittania Turbo-prop machine seen above Cruising over Gladstone Road. Cruising at 300 m.p.h., it will cut Auckland–Christchurch journey to 1hr 55 min.

Except for the loss of an eight-year-old boy at Makarori, Gisborne beaches have had no fatalities this summer. Part of this good record is due to the vigilance of local surf club members. Here Midway club members are seen on duty at Stanley Road beach.

Te Hapara scouts were among the many scout and guide parties which enjoyed camping this summer at Rimuroa.
