New Church Opened
Te Hapara's new Presbyterian Church, in Kowhai Street, was formally opened recently by Moderator of the Gisborne Presbytery, the Rev. S. J. D. McCay.
The occasion was one of much rejoicing for Te Hapara Presbyterians, and was attended by local and visiting clergy and by many visitors.
Mr McCay is handed the keys by the session clerk, Mr W.Hudson. Behind Mr McCay, in order, are the Reverends H. W. Hitchcock (clerk of the Gisborne Presbytery), R.I. Hall, D. Calder, S. Burley, J. Sands, W. Beattie and A. Everts.
