Spring Race Meeting

With the track in good order, fine weather, and record fields, the spring race meeting at Makaraka this year was a notable event, and gave the big attendances of the public some fine racing on both days. Investments showed an increase on last year's figures.

For the punter the meeting produced mixed results, but the standard of the racing was higner than usual, and there were many exciting finishes

Labour Day, the second day, was fine and hot, and the weather was reflected in the gay fashions of the ladies.
