At the Jumble Sale

A favourite way of raising money in a hurry for good causes is to hold a jumble sale. On these pages "Photo News" records the scene in the Parish Hall when a sale was held to raise funds for the Intermediate School baths. Produce and other goods donated by friends of the school was on sale. Before the doors opened a queue had formed. At 10 a. m. sharp the barriers were lowered and the rush was on. In an hour the tables were swept clean— vegetables, fruit, preserves, confectionery, cakes, clothes, magazines, and numerous other lines were all gone.

In the kitty for the baths fund: the handsome sum of £55/16/0d.
