Flying Officer Peter S. Rule, R.N.Z.A.F., son of Mr and Mrs S. H. Rule, 14 Townley Street Gisborne, bearing the Queen's Colour on the occasion of its presentation to the R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Wigram. Flying Officer Rule was chosen to accept the colour on behalf of the squadron in the brilliant ceremony.

Mr Ray Goodley, son of Mr and Mrs G. R. Goodley, 134 Ormond Road, and an ex–pupil of Gisborne High School, who has accepted a position as junior engineer on the Port Line M.V. Port Fairy, and has sailed for England.

Miss Jocelyn Hailey, of Gisborne, a lieutenant in the 1st Gisborne Company of the Girls' Life Brigade, who is one of the 25 officers of the brigade who are to spend a fortnight in Samoa as guests of the Life Brigade there.

Mr I. L. Bonifant (left, chatting with a friend at a Matawhero sale) has been appointed assistant manager of Dalgety & Co., Adelaide, S.A. He has been manager for the firm at Gisborne for eight years.
