Eleven young ladies made their debut at the Catholic Ball held in the Army Hall earlier this month. In a graceful ceremony the girls were presented to the Vicar-General of the Auckland Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Monsignor J. Cahill.
The debutantes, who were coached by Mrs S. Gregory, are seen above. They were: Back row: Noelene Higgins, Zelma Walker, Gay Grahame. Middle row: Margaret Ann Allen, Elizabeth Mulrooney, Antoinette Topic, Judith Parker, Janice Leahy, Mary Fogden: Front row: Gail Howard, Janice Morrison, Mrs Gregory.
This was the third presentation ball organised by the St. Mary Star of the Sea parish, and was voted a most enjoyable function by the large attendance.
