Scout Week

"Scout Week" in Gisborne, designed to bring the work of the Scout organisation before the public, was an outstanding success.

On the Friday and Saturday nights, "The Gang Show", a play of Scout life, was presented in the Opera House to large and en thusiastic audiences. The opening scene at above.

Scout Week was part of the Gisborne-E.C. celebrations of the Lord Baden-Powell centenary and the 50th anniversary of scouting.

Throughout the week, a display of Scout activities on the ground adjacent to the City Council Chambers was a source of interest to hundreds of visitors and thousands of passers-by. The impressive entrance design is shown.
