Anzac Day Service

Under a cloudless sky, Anzac Day services at Gisborne were held last Thursday. For the main service at the War Memorial, an alteration in the customary procedure was given a trial. Instead of the main body of the parade and the public being assembled at the memorial, they were placed across the river on the Read's Quay embankment, facing the memorial. The service was held at the memorial, and relayed by loudspeakers.
