The Gisborne Photo News

"Don't Give Up, Whatever You Do"

"Don't give up, whatever you do", was the parting shot from one of our subscribers the other day as she left our office. A keen "Photo News" fan, she thought that possibly we were getting tired of our work, or not making ends meet, or thinking of taking a permanent holiday. She need not worry. "Photo News" is far from getting too tired, or too poor, or too lazy. On the contrary we have branched out recently in another town (see elsewhere in this issue), and preliminary reports would suggest that our publication there will soon be firmly on its feet.

Some of the reasons why we get a kick out of publishing "Photo News" are the things that people say about it. Here are some examples from recent letters on our files:

From Wanganui: "May we congratulate you. The magazine is a fine effort and most interesting, especially to us who are ex-Gisbornites."

From Hamilton: "We enjoy the "Photo News" very much, and we consider there's no other magazine in New Zealand to equal it."

From Tauranga: "I wish to be a regular subscriber to your very interesting and worthwhile pictorial magazine. Surely Gisborne is justly proud of your presentation of a beautiful city to the eyes of visitors and prospective citizens".

From Dunedin:"Your publication certainly shows the rest of New Zealand how to do things".

Well, it's nice to know nice people, and nicer still to hear things like this from them.
