The holiday season was gay with falling confetti, and one of the gayest of the weddings was this one, at which a member of the crew of the Lachlan, David Hollis, son of Mr H. Hollis, Mary Street, and the late Mrs Hollis was married to Edith Eason, who comes from Fiji. Fellow crew members were present in force to wish their shipmate all the best. The ceremony was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
