New Church At Muriwai

Of a design which has attracted widespread notice, the new All Saints Church at Muriwai was opened recently. An Anglican Church within the parochial district of Patutahi, it is also available to Presbyterian worshippers and any other denomination within the Council of Churches.

The architect for the new building was Mr E. W. Armstrong, a native of Gisborne who has been practising in England for some years. The church is built with low, buttressed walls in concrete block, and a steeply-angled roof of grey-green tile. The bell—tower is a slender reinforced-concrete column. The cost of the project was very largely financed by residents of the district.
