Intermediate Sports

Numerous records were broken at this year's Gisborne Intermediate School sports. The times were bettered in each of the four class relays and there were some outstanding individual performances.

Chris. Valentine, leapt 17ft 11½in in the intermediate broad jump to break the record by 2ft 4½in.

"Tabloid games", including an amusing obstacle race, were introduced this year to cater for children who do not shine in athletic events.
