Model kindergarten, complete with jungle gym., sand pit, and slide, was made by Mr Brian Richardson, Kowhai St., to assist the committee which is raising funds to establish a free kindergarten in Gisborne.

The Gisborne Free Kindergarten Assn. hopes to raise £2000.

The Australian–built launch Dawn, pictured here in the Kaiti Basin, is a prospective addition to the Gisborne fishing fleet. Mr L. J. Higham and a crew of two sailed her up from Lyttelton recently. She has been in use as a pleasure cruiser at the Bluff.

Speed, grace, and vitality are combined in this picture of nine mares and their foals in a paddock at Taraheru. All the foals are the offspring of High Forest, a stallion imported from England four years ago by Mr Colin Isabeth, owner of Bretton Woods stud.
