A city councillor, Mr Harnett plans to more to the Bay of Plenty. He has served on numerous organizations, including the Fire Board, J.P.'s Association, and State Housing Allocation Committee as chairman.

Sister E. Pritehard, School Road (right) & Mr W. Harnett, Anzae St., who are retiring from local body life.
Formerly a district nurse, Mrs Pritchard has been a member of the Cook Hospital Board since April, 1950. She was awarded the MBE in 1949.

Pictured here with his family is Mr E. G. Tyler, Albert St., who has been appointed registrar of Christ-church Magistrate's Court.
He has been deputy-registrar of the Magistrate's and Supreme Courts in Gisborne for the past six years.
Mr Tyler came here from Kaikohe after 27 years' service with the Justice Department. He has been a member of the Christian Businessmen's Association in Gisborne and a laypreacher of the Bethel Hall Church. Danstan

Mr W. Stubbings, who has succeeded Mr H. M. White as president of the Gisborne Justices of the Peace Assn. He has been a member for 13 years and a vice-president for the last four years.

Mr Owen Poole, Rimu St., who has retired as secretary of the Gisborne Yacht Club after 10 years' service. Tributes to the work of Mr Poole, who was recently elected a life member, were paid at the club's annual prize-giving ceremony.
