Seated at his new office desk as secretary of the Cook Hospital Board is Mr P. J. Betteridge, who took up his duties this month. He succeeds Mr F. H. Carnie, who recently entered private practice. Mr Betteridge has held hospital-board posts in North Canterbury, Palmerston North, and Dannevirke. Beside him is Mr H. E. H. Sharp, assistant secretary. The board recently thanked Mr Sharp for the manner in which he had carried out the duties of acting secretary during the changeover period.
