Wot! More Basketball!

Canterbury, say the "girls" of Gisborne's Hill Billy Band, were pretty lucky to win the national basketball tournament. As they told Photo News: "Now if we'd entered....."

The Hill Billies were the star turn of a cabaret show turned on for the visitors. One look at all those girls, and the band decided that basketball was a mighty interesting sport. These pictures show what happened at their first training work-out.
