Park Land From Rubbish

Thousands of pounds worth of park land from mud and rubbish.. .....That's the vision behind a City Council experiment now being conducted on the northern bank of Waikanae Creek, at the end of Derby Street.

The council's sanitation committee, with Mr Geoff Watts as chairman, plans to reclaim acres of land by controlled tipping of refuse.

The site of Athletic Park, Wellington, was built up by the same method.
