Hospital Week

Norses' graduation is a time of celebration for the staff and friends of Cook Hospital. But during the ball, the displays, and other activities which make up "Hospital Week", the true spirit of nursing is never forgotten.

Visitors to the hospital were fascinated by a strange world of skeletons, gleaming equipment, bottles of drugs, and complicated electrical gear. Indeed, although the hospital is vitally tied to the needs of the district, it is, in a sense, a community within its own walls, with a population equalling a town of 500 people.

The splint department was completed in 1950, and is one of the most recent additions to Cook Hospital. It was built to aid people needing surgical footwear and appliances.
