Gisborne High School, traditionally strong in football, has confirmed its place as one of the leading Rugby schools in New Zealand. The first fifteen has not been beaten in 12 inter-school matches during four seasons. The present side, pictured above, has beaten Thames, Napier and Hastings this season and drew with Sacred Heart, Auckland, 6-all. The team is: Back row, D. Swann, V. Rickard, R. McLean, R. Nicholas, B. Clarke, J. Haisman, R. Crawshaw, P. Foster, and B. Morton; middle row, K. Jones, T. Rutene, P. Kay (vice-capt.), G. Robinson (capt.), B. Proudfoot, W. Akroyd, and A. The school hockey team pened its inter-collegiate season successfully by defeating Napier High School this month 2-nil. The players are: Back row, O. Hickman, S. Rosie, J. Williams, R. Skuse, A.
