Helen's version of Ritual Fire Dance is done to Falla's music, which has been popularised in Nev Zealand by recordings and by the New Zealand pianist, Richard Farrell.

Manuel de Falla was a Spanish composer of note who died in 1946. His opera and ballet music won universal recognition in the earlier part of this century. He was a keen student of the Spanish folk song and arranged a number of festivals to maintain its cultivation.
