Attack From The Sea

As the sea bites relentlessly into the eastern foreshore of Waikanae Beach, engineers of three local bodies are joining forces in a bid to check the attack.

A joint committee of the City Council. Catchment Board, and the Harbour Board is studying reports on possible ways of meeting the sea's challenge.

"The situation is being watched very closely," the city engineer, Mr N. R. Sanderson, told "Photo News".
