Band For Project

The swinging Ray Zame band of the 50s and 60s was reformed very smoothly to establish the success of the Gisborne Rotary Club ball. This was part of the club's Golden Jubilee Year project (a gift to the city of a $12,000 piano) and the event raised $1000 towards this.

Members of the band are Ray Zame, Bill Firth, Harry Ratcliffe, Theo Cameron, Herbie Clare, Bill Kerekere and Sandy Hovell. Just a few of the capacity crowd, attracted by the great old sound, are shown below.
