If You Haven'T Got Your Health!

Your health is the most important thing about your whole life — and your children's! This truest of comments needs no reiteration from anyone, suffice for us to say that the Gisborne Health Camp does a marvellous job in restoring healthy bodies (and improved outlook) to the many children who pass through the establishment. Youngsters, who are referred to the camp by school medical officers and Public Health people, show marked improvement after the usual six-week visit. Children come to the camp for a number of reasons and these include unsettlement at home. The camp also caters for children with ailments which need doctor or hospital treatment, but, whose homes are too far away for easy access. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, however, and the kiddies always love dressing up. They also much enjoy any Open Day the Health Camp holds. These show the public, parents and friends how the camp works.

The matron, Mrs F. Liddell, is the perfect mixture of motherliness and loving control and seems to have no trouble at all inestablishing instant communication with her young charges. Here she attends to young Douglas, who is having a couple of days in bed.

Proper diet and good food are served at mealtimes with no rubbish being devoured in between, only fruit. Here, clockwise, from centre left, Quinn, Janina, Ngaro, Jennie, Rehu and Tania look forward to their evening meal.
