The church will be attached to the Patutahi parish of the Waiapu Diocese and will accommodate 60 worshippers.

Situated beside the Gisborne-Napier highway, near the Muriwai School, the church has already captured the attention of hundreds of motorists.

Nearing completion is this unusual church (right) being erected at Muriwai. The striking design was drawn by Mr E. W. Armstrong who returned to Gisborne two years ago after many years as an architect in London.

Mr and Mrs S. E. Paviour, Iranui Road, who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary this month. Both Mrs Paviour, formerly Miss Lister, and her husband have spent most of their lives in this district. All their family were present to celebrate the event.
