70th Anniversary

Salvationists from as far afield as Wellington, Waihi and Hamilton were among numerous visitors who gathered here recently for a "Back-to-Gisborne" reunion.

It marked the 70th anniversary of the Gisborne Salvation Army Corps.

One of the highlights of the celebrations was a thanksgiving service on Cochrane's corner, where the corps' first meeting was held 70 years ago. Pictured below are Senior Captain E. Briggs (extreme left) and the band during the special service.
