Great endeavours were seen at the annual East Coast Schools' Athletic Meeting held at the Lytton High grounds this year. Saturday, March 8, saw ideal conditions for the meeting where some very good times were recorded. Representatives from both country and city schools took part.

Putting in a spectacular effort in the junior triple jump is Dale Ferris of Lytton High.

Also from Lytton High is Mark Furlan who is running right away from the field to win the junior boys' 1500 metres.

Chris Mita of the Boys High School winds up in the discus throw.

Edmund Campion College's Mark Ransley about to throw in the intermediate javelin event.

Joe Jeffries of Boys High out-distances the opposition in the intermediate 1500 metres.

Also running right away from his opposition in the senior 400 metres is Ross Shaw of the Boys High School.
