Pictures From The Past

From Mr C. V. Clayton, Wairoa, come these three pictures from the past.

Out on the Gisborne flats after the 1938 flood. These two people are actually ankle and knee deep in Silt!

Out by the Makaraka racecourse, in the same flood, these sheep seem quite disappointed that there's no race meeting.

Also after the 1938 flood a large deposit of drift-wood covered all of the beach at Waikanae. Quite a mess, wasn't it?
