Music and Music
Two musical events of somewhat different significance were held in the city in December.
A capacity crowd filled the Y.M.C.A. Stadium for two concerts by the very popular Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. They displayed their versatility to the full and gave the crowds their money's worth.
The complete contrast provided by the Gisborne Choral Society and the Gisborne Civic Orchestra in their presentation of Haydn's "Creation" was no less thrilling for the crowd which filled to overflowing the Holy Trinity Church. Conductor Marios Sophocleous puts the finishing touches to the combination at the final rehearsal.
