Here and There

Better Late Than ...

The gremlins got hold of the negative for this photograph, which is the reason it did not appear in last month's issue. However, this is Marshall Hopps of 244 Ormond Road who is now getting tremendous pleasure from his new bicycle. He won the bike, a Raleigh 10-speed job, for collecting the most swap-its (2403 in fact) in the City Queen Swap-it competition for the Memorial Hall Queen Carnival. The cycle was given by the Rotary Club of Gisborne and Mac's Cycles Ltd.

No Chips Here ...

Plenty of fish though!

This 801b seven-gill shark and 1601b sting ray were caught off the Tolaga Bay wharf, within half-an-hour of each other, by Gerry Colbert of 10 Carnarvon Street, and formerly of Te Puia Springs. Gerry (centre) was given assistance to land the catch by Neil McGregor (left) and Chris Flood, both of Tolaga Bay.
