News from the Y.M.

A function was held in the Y.M.C.A. Lounge recently to farewell Bill and Joan Painter. Bill, who has been associated with the Y.M.C.A. for 17 years, and particularly the last three as secretary, has resigned to take up welfare work in Gisborne.

Y.M.C.A. president Brian Crawshaw presented the Painters (right) with a handsome standard lamp while Y.M.C.A. Ladies Auxiliary president Merle File presented Joan Painter with flowers.

Also at the function a cheque for $326 was presented to national secretary Peter Darracott to forward on to FISH. FISH is the organisation for the promotion of the Y.M.C.A. in Fiji. From left, Philip Thompson, Peter Darracott, and local FISH committee members Tony File, Belinda Toon, Shane Mason, Peter Fox, Robert Thompson, Natalie Wood and Janice Imrie.
