Lucky Cats

September 13 was a Black Friday so Radio Gisborne held a competition to find the largest and the smallest black cat in Gisborne. It's surprising the number of pure black cats there are around town!

Weighing in at 17 pounds was the Twigley family pet of 461 Aberdeen Road, “Alfie”, who is with Mrs Fay Twigley and daughter Karen, won the contest by ounces.

Julie White of 70A Endcliffe Road, brought along one of the pure black kittens born to their family cat the day before. Couldn't get 'em smaller than that! They are with 2ZG programme officer Ian Johnston.

The prizes were great pet food sausages donated by Economic Butchery. The kitten looks set for a long time yet.
