Holy Trinity Centennial

The centennial celebrations of Holy Trinity Church of the Anglican Parish of Gisborne are being celebrated this year, from August to November, with the main activities taking place from August 31 to September 8. These activities included a thanksgiving eucharist, daily Holy Communions, recitals, a theatre performance, a folk concert, panel discussions and a dinner.

After the eucharist, morning tea was served in the Parish Hall. It was here that the centennial cake was cut, and about to do the honours is Miss Winifred Lysnar, She is being ably assisted by the celebrations co-ordinator, Mr Arthur Jukes.

The “Pageant Of Light,” staged by the Women's Group and produced by Mary Woosey, was a feature of the Holy Trinity centennial celebrations. It “depicted the arrival and spread of Christianity, from its origins to the present day in Gisborne.

Part of the Auckland Cathedral Choir which sang at the end of the week-long main celebrations of the Holy Trinity Centenary.
