Mrs G. McLatchie, Awapuni Road, was the winner of the Melbourne Cash slogan competition. She won a $100 gift token. The firm is celebrating its 70th anniversary in business and the competition was part of its anniversary celebrations. Mrs McLatchie wrote: “Sensational Value, Quality, Style, Shop At Melbourne Cash — And Smile!” She is pictured with one of the company's directors, Mr Graham Morris, as she chooses her hundred-dollar's-worth of goods.
