Fast and Furious

As stated on page 3, the Gisborne Boxing Association's tournament on June 9 in the Y.M.C.A. Stadium produced some good matches and exciting bouts. The fifteen fights' saw all the local gyms represented, with visitors from Auck-land and Wellington also taking part.

Taking much interest in the tournament was the -Gisborne Boxing Association's newest life member, Mr Dan O'Connell. He has been prominent in the boxing world for many years, particularly with junior boxers, and has been a committee member of the G.B.A. for the past 15 years.

In the second annual contest for the White Cup between Gisborne and Wellington teams, Wellington again took the award. G.B.A. president Colin Whelan presents the cup to Wellington team captain Warren Symons.
