Manager Transferred

The Royal Life-Saving Society has awarded its Certificate of Thanks to Sister Colette of St Joseph's Convent. While it is the seventh award to be presented in Gisborne, Sister Colette is the first of her order to reeeive it in New Zealand. Gisborne branch chairman Bill De Costa is presenting the certificate. Sister Colette, who teaches at St Mary's School, joined the society in 1968 and has also been a committee member since that date. In that time she has also instructed and coached 400 successful candidates in life-saving.

The manager of the the A.N.Z. Bank at Midway, Mr Roy Hardcastle (centre), has been transferred to Wellington as advances inspector. He is pictured with Mrs Hardcastle and, at left, Mr John Warrington, who has come from the position as accountant in Christchurch to be the new manager at Midway.

From Rod Coker (right), an ex-Gisbornite who still takes a keen interest in this city through "Photo News," comes this pic of himself and two others, Dr Michael Dodgson and Gail Houlahan. They all met at the Australian Nudist Convention held recently in Adelaide. Rod originally came from Makaraka, Gail is also an ex-Gisbornite, while Dr Dodgson was pathologist at Cook Hospital in the late 1950s.
