800 for Conference

Eight hundred delegates and wives attended the 1974 conference of Rotary District 293 in this city on the last weekend in February. Joint hosts were the Gis-borne Rotary and Gisborne West Rotary Clubs who were responsible for the three-day programme. This included social activities, business sessions and addresses by Sir Guy Powles ("Moral Man and Immoral Society — Some Comments For Today"), Mr A. F. Crothall ("Management's Relations With Society") and Rotary International President - Elect Bill Robbins.
