Open Slalom

Some very tricky manoeuvring was seen by spectators as canoeists threaded their way through the turbulent water on the Waikare-taheke River, near Lake Waikaremoana. An open slalom there recently drew good entries, including the 15-member English team which had been to the international meeting held at Rangitata over the Commonwealth Games period.
