Sa-A-A-Ad Movies

This is just one of several movie calenders brought into us by Mr Terry Knight of 335 Aberdeen Road. Mr Knight moved into the house recently and on cleaning out the attic came across the programmes quietly gathering dust. The programmes were for the Regent and Majestic Theatres, to which admission was 20 cents for the circle and 15 cents for the stalls. The programmes were for early 1932 and such film-star greats as Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Maurice Chevalier, Claudette Colbert, Clive Brook, Norma Shearer, Janet Gaynor, Cedric Hardwick and Maureen O'Sullivan were well on the way up or at the top already. Talking pictures had only just become well established and it was a big deal once or twice a month when you actually got to see a movie in colour! Think of that! Almost like colour TV now, eh?
