Jenny Thomson, who is on a working holiday in England and the Continent, is pictured at Prestwick in Scotland, Jenny is the daughter of Mr and Mrs W. G. Thomson, Fitzherbert Street, and was visiting the ancestral home of her father, who came out from Scotland at a very early age.

Mr Eric Adye has been appointed executive secretary of the new East Coast Regional Development Council. Mr Adye, who has been general manager of the Gisborne Harbour Board for the past five of his seven years with them, will take up his new post in the new year. Mr Adye was Cook County Engineer for six years before joining the Harbour Board.

The Reverend Barrie Hihbert featured in the recent T.V. series of the "Plain Speaking" programme on Sunday nights. Barrie, who is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Hibbert, 10 Sheehan Street, was educated at the Central School, the Boys High School and Scots College. He is pictured with his wife Judie, and daughters Shelley (at back) and Laurie, and son Carey. Rev. Hibbert, who trained at Auckland and then served at Tawa, is now Baptist minister at the Hanover Street Church in Dunedin.
